Archive for the ‘Coffee Drink of the Week’ Category
I am planning to do a coffee drink of the week and feature its ingrediants, its steps and my rating of how good I think it is. I will post this drink of the week every Monday and it will last for the entire week. I will try to get a pic of it and maybe a recipe (If I can find it). This category holds past and present items that I feature.

Ingredients:
1-14 oz. can of sweetened condensed milk
1/3 cup double strength coffee sweetened
4 tb. Sugar
1 cup whipped heavy whipping cream
Preparation:
Prepare the coffee and add the sugar while the coffee is still hot. Cool. In a large bowl, combine the sweetened condesed milk and the coffee into hand mixer; whip on high speed for 3-5 minutes.
By hand mix in the whipping cream. Make sure the mixture is evenly distributed. Spoon the mixture into 6-8 serving dishes, then freeze for 3 hours or until firm. Garnish before serving with a chocolate-covered espresso bean and chocolate syrup for a yummy treat.
This drink/dessert was pretty good but looked different from the picture. The strong coffee may be alittle too strong but it is very good. 4/5

Sounded interesting so I gave it a try…

Ingrediants:
1/2 Portion Brewed Coffee
1/2 Portion Brewed Tea
Lemon Juice, Lime Juice, Orange Juice (optional)
Refined or Raw Sugar or Sweetener like Nutrasweet, Splenda, or Stevia
Preparation:
1. Brew a pot of your favorite coffee.
2. Brew your favorite tea (yes you can use your coffee maker for this as long as you are using teabags). The article also suggested to add in a fruit flavored tea. For example, make 5 bags of Lipton tea and 1 bag of mango flavored tea.
3. Combine them at a 50-50 ratio in a plastic or metal pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
4. Serve over ice. The addition of Lemon, Lime, or Orange Juice and Sweetener.
The article promoted using other mint, vanilla bean, pureed strawberries, or orange juice ingrediants too.
Omg, yuck. This is the first recipe that I did not like at all. I think that adding fruity flavors made it awful! Maybe trying mint or vanilla would work, but I dont dare try. I am not sure if I would try it again. 1/5

Ingredients:
· 1 cup brewed gourmet coffee at room temperature
· 1 cup chocolate ice cream
· 1 cup milk
· 1 cup crushed ice
· 2 cinnamon sticks
· 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Preparation:
Combine the gourmet coffee, ice cream, milk and crushed ice in a blender.
Blend it until it is all combined and serves 2.
Pour into two mugs and add cinnamon sticks.
This is the best coffee recipe that I think I have made so far. Its a coffee drinkers dream! The ice cream is what makes it so good. It gets really watery fast, so serve immediately. 5/5

Ingredients:
- 2 cups coffee
- 1/3 cup cocoa
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup whipping cream
- dash cinnamon
Preparation:
Mix cocoa, sugar, coffee and milk in a sauce pan. Heat, over medium heat constantly stirring, until simmering.
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
Pour into cups, top with whipped cream and cinnamon.
Makes 4 Servings.
This was a very simple drink that I usually make in my dorm room because it is so simple (but I use milk instead of whipping cream). I liked this recipe out of several others that I found because it had the cinnamon included. It was good, but not as interesting as other drinks I have made 2/5.

Ingredients:
- 6 oz hot coffee
- 2 tbs chocolate syrup
- 1 tbs maraschino cherry juice
- Whipped cream
- Chocolate shavings
- Maraschino cherries
Preparation:
In a mug, mix coffee, syrup and cherry juice.
Stir well then top with whipped cream, chocolate shavings and cherries.
Yum! I really liked this drink, allthough I left off the cherries because I dont like actual cherries (but I like the juice, I know i’m weird). It was easy to make and was great with a couple of girl scout cookies that I got yesturday. It was alittle too sweet for my taste, I would have added a couple more ounces of coffee. 3/5

Ingredients:
- 3 cups of crushed ice or ice cubes.
- 1 ½ cups of cold coffee.
- ½ cup of whole milk.
- ½ cup of granulated sugar.
- 2 tablespoons of caramel syrup.
- 1 teaspoon of chocolate syrup.
- ¼ teaspoon of salt.
- Drop of vanilla extract.
Preparation:
In a blender, combine the cold coffee, whole milk, sugar, caramel and chocolate syrups, and salt.
Blend on medium speed for 20 seconds.
Add a pinch of vanilla extract and 3 cups of ice. Blend on high speed until the drink is smooth and creamy.
Serve as desired.
I dont really like cold coffees, but this was very good! It tasted to me more like a icey because so much extra milk, vanilla, chocolate, and caramel in. Iadded some crumbled graham crackers on top and adding some crushed candy on top would also make it taste even sweeter. This was also a very easy recipe that used common house hold ingrediants. Yum! I am giving this recipe a 4/5.

Ingredients:
- 1 cup heavy cream, chilled
- 1/4 cup confectioners sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 3 cups coffee, hot

Beat cream until rich and fluffy, with soft peaks. The mix in the sugar, and continue to beat until you have stiff peaks. Split whipped cream between 4 mugs. Add vanilla to the hot coffee, then pour over cream. Serve right away, and do not stir. Serves 4
This French coffee recipe I found at About.com and I thought it sounded good enough to try. I made the drink at home and it was very good. Very sweet and the vanilla really made the drink. Since this is the start of the ratings and I am not sure is what to come, I will give it 3/5.
I could not find a picture online of what the drink looks like but I found that General Foods International makes a coffee drink mix called “Cafe Francais” that you can buy in stores to mix in with your coffee for $3.99.
